Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2+ years in a transactional environment (e.g., investment banking, infrastructure, property development, infrastructure investment, fund management) or 3-5 years in a technical field (engineering, law)

About the Role:

  • We are seeking an Investment Analyst to join our Melbourne-based investments team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in financial analysis and modelling, as well as an active interest in real estate and infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a high-caliber team in an established real estate investment manager, contributing to strategic investment decisions, performing in-depth portfolio analysis, and supporting broader portfolio management functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and support decision-making for potential real estate and infrastructure investments.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, manage assets, and forecast portfolio performance.
  • Provide support in due diligence processes, including preparing investment proposals and supporting materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in portfolio management activities, including asset performance tracking, benchmarking, and periodic valuation updates.
  • Work collaboratively with the investment team on strategy development, market research, and investment opportunity assessments.
  • Produce detailed reports, presentations, and insights to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Transactional Experience: Minimum of 2 years in investment banking, infrastructure investment, property development, or fund management.
  • OR
  • Technical Experience: 3-5 years in engineering, law, or a related technical field with demonstrated interest in real estate or infrastructure investment.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, including advanced Excel skills and a solid understanding of valuation techniques and investment metrics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing investment proposals and presentations for senior management or clients.
  • A keen interest in the real estate and/or infrastructure space, with a desire to deepen knowledge and expertise within these sectors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, law, or a related field.
  • Additional qualifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are advantageous but not required.
