Job Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Investment Associate to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will play a critical role in our investment process, from sourcing and evaluating potential investments to supporting portfolio companies. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of the tech industry, providing essential support to high-potential startups.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis and modeling of potential investment opportunities. This includes evaluating complex financial models, cash flow projections, and business plans. Networking: Build and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and other investors to enhance deal flow and support portfolio companies.
  • Due Diligence: Perform thorough due diligence on prospective investments, including market research, competitive analysis, and  assessment of management teams.
  • Investment Evaluation: Assist in the preparation of investment memos and presentations for the Investment Committee, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and industry developments to identify potential investment opportunities.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor and support the growth and development of portfolio companies, providing strategic and financial advice as     needed.

 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred but not required.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, corporate finance, investment banking, commercial banking or emerging corporate banking teams.
  • Proven track record in financial analysis and due diligence.
  • Experience with early-stage tech companies is highly desirable.

Skills

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and cash flow analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
